Tennis is a sport played all around the world and has been growing in popularity in recent years as more people play and watch it on TV. The rules are relatively simple, so anyone can learn how to play fairly quickly, and the equipment needed to play the game can be bought at most sporting goods stores, so there’s little cost to learning how to play tennis. But where did the sport of tennis originate? It’s not as simple as you might think! Let’s take a look at where tennis was invented and who created it! The Beginning Tennis was invented in England in the 1870s by Major Walter C. Wingfield as a variation of the game of rackets (a precursor to modern-day lawn tennis) with three major differences: it was played indoors, with five players per side, and without any volleys. The first public match was played at Wimbledon Common on June 9th, 1877. The Middle Ages Tennis originated from the French game jeu de paume, which was played with the palm of the hand. The game became popular in Engla...

How Long Does A Tennis Match Take?

How long a match lasts is difficult to answer. In fact, it depends on the tournament and whether it's a male or female match. For Grand Slams especially, the winner of the men’s match is that the better of five sets. So, if the match wins the winner in three consecutive sets, it can end as soon as two hours. Five sets during a match can last a mean of up to five hours. This also depends on the many the games of every set. The longest game within the history of tennis was at Wimbledon 2010, during which the American athlete John Isner faced the Frenchman, Nicolás Mahut. The final score was: 6-4, 3-6, 6-7 (7-9), 7-6 (7-3), 70-68 Having this lasting quite 11 hours. Some tournaments also are played at the simplest of three sets, as I said before, so here the games are shorter. The ladies matches are the simplest of three sets. These matches usually have a shorter duration. Average match time is a smaller amount than three hours. The longest game in women’s history was played in 1984 a...

Tennis Elbow Exercises

Image
I have already discussed this topic in one of my articles. But I thought I have to write about exercises which can help regenerate your arm quicker. ATTENTION!!! It is important that you simply use smooth and controlled motions. Don't jerk your wrist while doing the exercises. Put ice on your elbow until it's numb after you exercise. Finger Stretch: Place a elastic band around your thumb and fingers, and slightly cup your hand. Gently spread your thumb and fingers apart then back together. Repeat 10 times for 3 sets. do that exercise one or twice each day. Wrist Stretch: Hold one arm straight call at front of you, and hold the hand with the opposite hand. Slowly bend your wrist down (and slightly out) until you are feeling a stretch. Hold for 15 to 30 seconds, then relax. Repeat two or 3 times . do that exercise two or 3 times each day. Wrist Curl: Lay your forearm flat across a table together with your palm facing upward. Place a weight or exercise band across your palm for ...

Tennis Chain

Image
In this article I want to write about the "Tennis Chain". Why is it called tennis chain: The tennis bracelet is a diamond-encrusted style of jewelry that was first worn by the American tennis player, Chris Evert. During her match with George Bedewi during the US Open, her  diamond bracelet broke and fell off her wrist. That is why it is called the tennis chain. How much is a tennis chain worth it? A diamond tennis necklace isn't a coffee cost piece of jewellery . As diamond tennis necklaces have diamonds all the way round the neck, they typically start at 5 carats and go up to 25 carats total diamond weight, and usually cost from $5000 up to $250,000. Are tennis chains real diamonds? Most tennis chains include round cut diamonds. However, some styles do incorporate emerald cuts or princess cuts. These cuts could also be incorporated in 10k gold chains or 14k Gold Chains.
